How to keep a black car clean Step 1. Don’t buy a Black Car Before I found Andrew and the team at KOS Autocare that would have been the case. I purchased a BMW Series 4 M440i from Josh at Brisbane BMW and Mini Garage. And it is black. I wanted the paint protection, but I needed something more than just the ceramic coating, don’t get me wrong, my 2021 JCW Clubman has the ceramic coating and that works as it should, but I need something that will defend against high-speed rocks from the country roads west of Brisbane. Well after doing all the research, I found that full body clear wrap (paint protection film) was going to be the solution plus a ceramic coating over the wrap. I managed to find KOS Autocare in Brisbane and started discussing the solution. I believed I knew what I was talking about but as Andrew spoke, I found there was more for me to learn. I took my car around to scope the place out and I think my car was the cheapest thing on the floor. There was everything from a 911 GT through to a Bentley and finishing off with a 1990s Lamborghini and that Lamborghini is priceless. I started pinching myself to make sure I was awake. Andrew and his team are true professionals, and the work is top shelf. We talked about the process in detail and how long they would need my car. We went into great depth about how to care for the solution moving forward and we booked the car in with them. The second BMW had removed the big red bow from the bonnet, and the car was handed to KOS Autocare. Upon returning, the car looked even better than when I dropped it into them. I’m not making it up. The Black of my car is nice, but the wrap has added a depth that is truly beautiful. I started the 2hr+ drive home and found my face was hurting because I was smiling the whole way home. It would have been about 3 weeks before I needed to wash my car. 3 WEEKS with a black car is unheard of. I got out my washing gear and PH neutral bubbles and started washing my car. My face started hurting again as I found myself smiling as what I believed still looked clean enough started to shine and the depth, I spoke about was returning. My clothes were dirty, but my car was clean. It took about 40-50mins to wash the car, the wheels and to dry the car. It is so easy. Each Sunday I get up early before the shade is gone and zip around my car to make it clean for the following week. It is not that big a deal to keep a black car clean. Andrew and the team at KOS Auto Care also offer a car storage solution for long-term parking. Because we had a holiday coming up and they do inspections of the solution after a few weeks. We decided to leave the car with them. I will never use anyone else for long term parking again. They dropped us off on time and picked us up at 5am. The car was inspected and the storage all in one. Had full 4x4 PPF package installed in April 23. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable in regards to PPF and Ceramic coating. Awesome product, makes cleaning heaps easier and simpler and protects your car. Unfortunately had some hail damage this week, consider that the roof which had no PPF would of had less damage if it had been applied. Contacted Andrew and he was very helpful and accommodating, once the car is repaired (some areas may need PPF removed to facilitate repair) it will be going back to get reapplied.
