4WD Paint Protection & PPF Armour
Premium 4x4 paint protection film and ceramic coating for 4WDs and utes built for touring, gravel roads and corrugations. Keep your rig looking factory fresh from the worksite to the high country.
Why your 4WD needs extra protection
There is no vehicle in Australia that copes harder than a touring 4x4 or a working ute. Gravel, scrub, sand and corrugations all take a toll on factory paint long before the odometer does.
Every kilometre of unsealed road throws loose stone at your panels. Flying chips off the corrugations chew into the bonnet and bullbar surrounds, while overhanging scrub leaves fine scratches down the doors and rear quarters. Add relentless UV, baked-on mud and gritty sand, and a six month old 4WD can look a decade older.
4WD paint protection film puts a tough, self healing barrier between all that punishment and your paint. The film is roughly 200 microns thick and absorbs stone chips, road debris and off road scratches that would otherwise crack lacquer or gouge metal. It is the smartest investment a 4WD or ute owner can make before the next big trip.

The damage 4WD paint protection stops
Touring, gravel roads and corrugations attack a 4x4 from every angle. Here is what the film is built to defend against.
Stone chips
Loose gravel and flying rock off the corrugations is the number one killer of 4WD paint. The film absorbs the impact so the panel underneath stays untouched.
Sand and UV
Beach runs and desert tracks blast paint with gritty sand, while the harsh Australian sun fades unprotected colour. The film is UV resistant to keep your finish true.
Mud and grit
Baked-on mud and trail dust grind into the clear coat every wash. With PPF in place, the muck wipes off the film instead of scouring your paint.
Scrub scratches
Overhanging branches and tight tracks leave fine scratches down doors and quarters. The film takes the hit and self heals minor scuffs with a little heat.
Worksite knocks
Utes cop tools, gear and ladders all day. Protect the high contact zones and your workhorse keeps its value and its looks.
Depreciation
A 4x4 with original, chip free paint is worth more at resale. PPF guards against costly repaints and protects your investment for years.
Common areas we protect on a 4WD or ute
From front bar essentials to a full body wrap, we tailor coverage to how and where you drive. Precision cut film means a clean, factory look on every panel.
Bonnet
The first panel to cop flying gravel. Full bonnet coverage stops the chip storm on every dirt road.
Bullbar area and front bar
Impact zones around the bullbar and front bar take the brunt of stone strikes. Protecting them keeps your front end sharp.
Guards
Front and rear guards sit right in the firing line of tyre throw. Film here prevents the tell-tale chip cluster behind the wheels.
Lower doors
Lower doors and sill areas collect sand, grit and scrub scratches. Coverage here keeps the panels that get noticed looking clean.
Rear quarters
Trailing stones and tight track scrub batter the rear quarters. Film protects these big, expensive panels from damage.
Tray and tub
Ute trays and tubs cop gear, dogs and loads daily. Protect the high wear edges so your workhorse keeps earning. See our Truck paint protection for heavier rigs.
Protecting bull bars, flares and the parts touring rigs actually break
A touring 4x4 is not a sedan with bigger tyres. Accessories, guards and hard points each wear differently, and 4WD paint protection film is fitted around them rather than over them.
Bull bars and the panels behind them
A bull bar protects the structure, not the paint around it. Stone that clears the bar hits the bonnet lip and guard edges behind it, and the mounting points scuff the paint they bolt against. Film goes on those surrounds and behind the bar where the strikes actually land.
Wheel arch flares
Flares sit directly in the tyre throw line and take a constant stream of gravel from your own wheels. Painted or body-coloured flares chip fast, and the leading edge is usually the first thing to go. Film across the flare face and edge stops that pattern developing.
Snorkel and A-pillars
The A-pillar and the panel around a snorkel catch scrub at exactly head height on tight tracks. Pinstriping down the pillar is one of the most common touring marks, and it runs the full length of the panel.
Side steps and rock sliders
The sill and lower door above a side step collect thrown stone, mud and boot scuffs every time someone climbs in. This is a high contact zone that rarely gets protected and always shows it.
Headlights and driving lights
Headlight lenses haze and pit from sandblasting long before the paint does, and a hazed lens costs more to replace than to protect. Film keeps the lens clear and the light output where it should be.
Door cups, handles and mirrors
Fingernails, rings and grit in the door cup wear the clear coat through with nothing but daily use. Mirror caps sit out in the debris stream and chip like a small bonnet. Both are cheap to cover and obvious once damaged.
How off road driving damages paint, terrain by terrain
Every kind of country hurts a rig differently. Here is where the damage comes from, and it is exactly the punishment we build 4x4 paint protection to absorb.
Gravel and corrugations
Speed turns loose stone into shrapnel. Corrugations then add vibration, so chips cluster on the bonnet, guard edges and mirrors. This is the fastest paint damage a 4WD ever sees.
Beach and sand driving
Airborne sand works like sandpaper on the lower panels. Meanwhile, salt spray creeps into every chip and speeds up corrosion. Headlights haze from the same blasting.
Bush tracks and scrub
Tight tracks drag branches down the doors, quarters and pillars. As a result, fine pinstripe scratches build up in a single trip. The film takes those marks and heals the light ones.
Rock and low range work
Rock work is slow but brutal. Sills, flare edges and bumper corners grind against stone, so the lowest paint cops the hardest contact on the car.
Mud and river crossings
Crossings drive grit into every gap. Afterwards, dried mud grinds the clear coat at the very first wash. On film, the muck releases without scouring the paint.
Highway and worksite duty
Between trips, the same rig runs highways and job sites. Truck spray, kerbs, tools and load straps keep the damage coming, so protection earns its keep every day.

4x4 paint protection packages for popular models
From weekend tourers to fleet workhorses, we fit protection packages for Australia's favourite 4WDs and utes. Every package is quoted on your exact vehicle, accessories and coverage.
Toyota HiLux
A workhorse that cops job sites all week and tracks all weekend. So a front end package with lower door and sill coverage is the popular fit. Tray edges round it out on tradie rigs.
Toyota LandCruiser and Prado
Touring royalty, from the 300 Series to the 79. Most run a bar, flares and a lift. Therefore we film the bonnet, guards, flare faces and A-pillars where spray and scrub actually land.
Ford Ranger and Everest
Popular from showroom stock to full Raptor builds. Front end protection suits highway towing, while touring packages add sills, flares and headlights for gravel kilometres.
Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X
A favourite with tourers and fleets alike. In addition to the classic front end package, lower doors and rear quarters are worth covering on gravel heavy routes.
Mitsubishi Triton and Pajero Sport
Hard working utes and wagons that see plenty of unsealed roads. Bonnet, bullbar surrounds and mirror caps are the smart starting point. Then coverage scales with the trips you plan.
Nissan, VW and the rest
From the Navara and Patrol to the Amarok and GWM utes, we cut film for almost any make and model. If it wears a badge, we can protect it.
Start with a front end package for highway and gravel commuting. Step up to a touring package that adds flares, pillars, sills and lights, or go full body for maximum cover. Then we quote it on your exact model, accessories and finish. Wondering about lifespan off road? See how long PPF lasts in Australian conditions.
Fitting film around 4WD accessories
Touring rigs are rarely standard, and the order you do things in changes the result.
Fit accessories first where you can. If a bull bar, flares or side steps are going on, it is better to have them fitted before the film so we can cut around the final positions rather than around gaps that will move. Where that is not possible, we work to the accessory positions you plan to run.
Bring it in clean, not detailed. A wash is plenty. We decontaminate and prepare the paint properly as part of the job, and any correction needed is assessed before film goes anywhere near a panel.
Tell us where it actually goes. A rig doing beach runs wears differently to one on Cape corrugations or a worksite hack running kerbs all week. Coverage should follow the wear, and that is the conversation worth having before you book.

Matte and satin film for a factory look
Want your 4x4 to keep its tough, understated look? Choose the finish that suits your style.
Many 4WDs and utes leave the factory in a matte or satin colour, and a glossy film would stand out for all the wrong reasons. We offer matte and satin PPF that matches that flat factory finish, so your protection is genuinely invisible. Prefer the wet, deep look? Clear gloss film keeps your paint true to colour while still taking the hits.
Either way the film is optically clear in its category, self healing and built to last. You get the rugged, stealth look you want with all the armour underneath. Chasing a colour change as well? Take a look at our car wraps for a full transformation.

Add ceramic coating for easy cleaning
Film stops the chips. A ceramic layer on top makes the whole rig far easier to keep clean after a muddy weekend.
Sheds dirt and mud
A ceramic coating over your PPF adds a slick, hydrophobic top layer so mud, dust and water bead and roll off instead of baking on.
Faster washes
After a trip, a quick rinse does most of the work. Less scrubbing means fewer wash scratches and more time on the tracks.
Lasting gloss
Ceramic adds depth and UV protection on top of the film, keeping your finish glossy and your colour rich season after season.
Why our 4WD paint protection film stands up
The same high end, UV durable, self healing film across every 4x4 paint protection package, fitted by trained installers.
Lifetime film warranty
We back the film for life and our installation workmanship for two years, so your 4WD paint protection is covered well beyond the next big trip.
Precision cut and fitted
Film is computer cut to your exact vehicle and applied by trained installers for a seamless, factory fit with no lifting edges.
Self healing
Minor scuffs and swirls vanish with a little heat from the sun or a hair dryer, so your panels stay sharp through every adventure.

COVERAGE AND PARTS
What is 4WD paint protection?
It is a high quality paint protection film applied to your four wheel drive or ute. Some owners call it 4x4 paint protection, and the job is the same. The film forms a durable, near invisible barrier against stone chips, scratches, sand, dust and environmental contaminants, keeping your paint in pristine condition through hard touring and worksite use.
Which areas of my 4WD should I protect?
The high impact zones cop the most punishment: the bonnet, bullbar area and front bar, front and rear guards, wheel arch flares, lower doors, side steps, rear quarters, and the tray on a ute. You can start with these essentials or step up to full body coverage. We tailor a package to how and where you drive.
Can you protect my bull bar and flares?
We protect the painted panels around a bull bar, where stone that clears the bar actually lands, and the mounting surfaces it bolts against. Painted or body coloured wheel arch flares are a common fit too, since they sit directly in the tyre throw line and chip on the leading edge first.
Should I fit my accessories before or after the film?
Before, where possible. If a bull bar, flares or side steps are going on, having them fitted first means we can cut the film around their final positions for a cleaner result. If that is not practical, let us know what you plan to run and we will work to those positions.
FINISH, CARE AND BOOKING
Will the film change how my 4WD looks?
No. Clear film is optically clear and keeps your paint true to colour with a glossy finish. If your 4x4 is matte or satin from factory, we fit matte or satin film so the protection stays genuinely invisible and the look stays standard.
Should I add a ceramic coating as well?
Many touring owners do. A ceramic coating layered over the film adds a slick, hydrophobic surface so mud, dust and water shed easily, making post trip washes far quicker and gentler on the finish. The two work brilliantly together.
How long does it last and what is covered?
The film carries a lifetime warranty and our installation workmanship is backed for two years. The self healing film is built to repel stone chips and road debris through years of off road use when looked after with simple, non abrasive washing.
