THE BASICS

What is ceramic coating?

A liquid nano-ceramic product that cures into a hard, transparent layer bonded to your paint.

Ceramic coating is a liquid nano-ceramic product applied to your paintwork. Once cured, it chemically bonds to the factory clear coat and forms a hard, transparent protective layer that sits over the paint rather than washing away like a wax or sealant.

That bonded layer boosts gloss and colour depth, adds resistance to UV, chemicals and light marring, and creates a slick, hydrophobic surface so water and grime do not stick as easily. Unlike traditional waxes and sealants that fade in weeks, a quality ceramic coating lasts for years with the right maintenance.

Whether it is a daily driver, a 4WD or a prestige car, we treat every vehicle like our own and focus on a finish that looks incredible and stays easy to look after.

WHY OWNERS CHOOSE IT

The benefits of ceramic coating

Gloss you can see and a surface that is genuinely easier to keep clean.

Deep, showroom gloss

A rich, wet-look finish that enhances your colour and sharpens reflections for a true showroom shine.

Hydrophobic and easier washing

Water beads and sheets off the slick surface, so there is less dirt build-up and your wash is quicker.

UV and contaminant resistance

Helps guard against UV fading and oxidation and adds resistance to bird droppings, bugs and light contaminants.

Reduced light swirling

An extra sacrificial layer over the clear coat helps reduce light marring from regular washing.

Better long-term value

Paint stays cleaner and clearer for longer, which helps maintain the look and resale appeal of your car.

Less maintenance, more driving

Grime releases more easily, so routine upkeep takes less time and fewer harsh products.

CERAMIC AND PPF

How ceramic coating differs from and pairs with PPF

Two products, two jobs. Together they cover both impact and easy-clean.

It is important to be clear about what each product does. Paint Protection Film is a thick, self-healing urethane film, around 200 microns, that physically absorbs impacts. It is what protects your paint against stone chips, road debris and scratches on high-impact areas like the bonnet, bumper and mirrors.

Ceramic coating does something different. It will not absorb a rock chip, but it adds the deep gloss, the hydrophobic easy-clean surface and the chemical, UV and light-marring resistance that film alone does not provide. Think of film as armour and coating as the slick, glossy skin over the top.

That is why many owners combine them: film on the front and other high-impact areas for impact protection, with ceramic coating over the whole vehicle, including over the film, for the best balance of protection and easy maintenance. We can coat compatible PPF for extra slickness and a uniform finish. You can read more about the Paint Protection Film we install, or browse our Car Wraps if you want to change colour entirely.

THE PROCESS

Our ceramic coating application process

Careful preparation is what makes a coating bond and last.

1

Inspection and consult

We inspect your paint under proper lighting, discuss how you use the vehicle and recommend the coating that best suits your needs.

2

Wash and decontamination

Your car receives a pre-rinse, snow foam and a safe contact wash, then iron remover and a clay bar treatment to leave a smooth surface.

3

Machine polishing

We carry out single or multi-stage machine polishing, depending on condition and package, to reduce swirls and refine the gloss.

4

Panel wipe

A dedicated panel wipe removes any remaining oils or residues so the coating can bond directly to the clear coat for maximum durability.

5

Coating application

The coating is applied section by section, levelled and checked for a smooth finish, with high-impact areas able to receive extra attention.

6

Cure and inspection

Your vehicle stays indoors while the coating cures. We complete a final inspection and provide maintenance guidelines.

DURABILITY AND CARE

Warranty, durability and aftercare

A coating performs for years when it is washed the right way.

With proper washing and maintenance, a professionally installed ceramic coating can last several years. We back every coating with a manufacturer-supported product warranty, and every installation is carried out by trained technicians in our controlled studios.

To keep a coating performing, wash with a pH-neutral shampoo, a soft mitt and quality microfibre towels, and avoid harsh automatic car washes and strong chemicals. The hydrophobic surface does a lot of the work for you, so most owners find upkeep is faster and gentler than caring for uncoated paint. UV exposure is one of the harshest things a finish endures, and the Bureau of Meteorology UV index shows just how intense Australian sun can be, which is part of why coated paint holds its colour for longer.

If you ever need maintenance advice, our team is always happy to help. Ask about warranty coverage for your vehicle when you request your quote, and we can tailor a simple upkeep plan to how you drive.

FAQS

Ceramic coating FAQs

Common questions about durability, care and how coating works with film.

How long does ceramic coating last?

With proper washing and maintenance, a professionally installed ceramic coating can last several years. We will advise an expected lifespan based on your vehicle, how you store it and how you use it.

Does ceramic coating stop stone chips?

No. Ceramic coating adds chemical, UV and light-marring resistance, but it will not absorb impacts. For rock chips we recommend Paint Protection Film on high-impact areas, with ceramic coating on top if you want the extra gloss and slickness.

Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF?

Yes. Many owners choose film on the front and other high-impact areas for impact protection, with ceramic coating over the whole vehicle for the best balance of protection and easy maintenance. We can coat compatible film for extra slickness.

Is it worth coating a brand-new car?

Yes. New cars benefit the most. A light refinement followed by a coating protects the finish and helps keep that new look for longer.

How should I wash a coated car?

Use a pH-neutral shampoo, a soft mitt and quality microfibre towels. Avoid harsh automatic car washes and strong chemicals, and you will keep the hydrophobic finish performing at its best.

Which studios offer ceramic coating?

You can book ceramic coating at our Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne studios. Call 1300 300 100 or send an enquiry with your vehicle details and we will recommend the right option.
